Quick Filmstrip Template in Photoshop

TS-filmstrip-FINAL If you’ve already upgraded to Photoshop CS5 then you have probably already tried some of the amazing headline grabbing new features. Things like Puppet Warp, Content Aware Fill and HDR Pro are the talk of the town, but I bet you didn’t even notice the new feature that I really love. I’m talking about the all new film strip custom shapes. OK so it’s not a life changing new feature, but sometimes it’s the smallest things that make the biggest difference.

You can keep your puppet warp and content aware fill, I’m happy just having two new shapes to play with… Actually now I think about it, can I also keep content aware fill?

So in this handy video tutorial I’ll show you how to make use of the new film strip shapes and save a tonne of time making this template.

To find out more about me don’t forget to visit my website. A huge thank you goes out to Meredith at Adobe for having the flash of inspiration that made this technique possible. Of course if you’re not a Photoshop CS5 user you can easily make your own film strip. Just follow the first half of my video tutorial:
